Baby talk

It's interesting the reactions I've been getting with this pregnancy.

Is it your first?
No... my second.

Usually they then ask how old the first is, or the conversation drifts another direction, so sometimes it comes up and sometimes it doesn't.
I say "my first is 10"

Then I get varied reactions.

The one I got yesterday was "oh.. a mistake"

No :/ Neither of my kids are mistakes :/
But I just say "no... this is my second marriage" and that tends to appease people.

I was married for 3 years before my ex husband and I tried for a baby... and then we tried for over a year with numerous tests resulting in an operation for me just so we could have Mathew... so he was VERY wanted. And now... this time... we sometimes whinge that financially the timing could be better, but this is very much what we wanted. I'm not getting any younger. Heck... today is the last day of my contract with DHS. I would have had to have been out looking for another job by now (no, the contract would not have been renewed as it's maternity placement), and funnily enough if I was an ongoing employee today would still have been my last day anyway because of my pregnancy (less than a month to go!!! ;)). I couldn't have planned it better myself! (that's cos God planned it).

A lot of people think I look about 25 (or less!), and therefore must have had Mat when I was 15ish.

I think the most flattering remark was: "You don't look old enough to have a 10 y.o!" and then I could respond with how old I was when I had Mat (because I don't mind people knowing my age), and the person is not rude for asking, and they also don't think by default that Mat was a mistake.

...I wonder if Danny and I will end up having another one after all this...
