What words do you struggle with spelling?
Sep. 8th, 2007 09:50 amMat just got 30/30 for his spelling test. He's always been very good with spelling (and reading).
But for all my whinging about the DORE exercises and particularly his mental tasks, I am happy that it gives me time to go through his times tables and spelling with him. We do those things more than any other mental task (I can make up pretty much anything "tell me about your day", "things beginning with R", "tell me about this movie", "name all the beanie kids you have" etc etc).
So now that he's finished with this spelling list I am making up a few words to give him. I remember struggling with 'necessary' when I was younger so that went on the list. I also put 'exercise' which sucks that I was asking him to spell "necessary exercise'. Yes, that's what I'll be doing today! 'Diarrhoea' is also on the list as everyone should know how to spell such an important word ;) Mat added diaphragm and oesophagus and now we're wondering what other words we should add, so I thought I'd put it to you guys.
Meanwhile, Rebekah vomited last night and it's all through her bedding, sleeping bag, hair, wall, carpet...
Well, we've cleaned her/it up now so I hope the wash is going well. We have to go to the bank this morning (in the shopping centre) so we will take a walk there as a family. That's nice of Danny to get me out, since I didn't get to walk yesterday and I won't on Monday.
Hope Bekah is not sick, since she spent last night with Grandma and we're all (including Grandma) going out to Mum's later today. Grandma can't afford to get sick.
Anyway, better go.
